What I'm Liking.

Having been sorely out of touch with fandom, and, consequently, not reading much fan fiction either, I was just dying to get back into the swing of things. Any recommendations of things I Absolutely Must Read Right Now, regardless of pairing or rating, would be greatly appreciated.
Fan Fiction
Harry PotterStay by
flyingcarpet, Harry/Ginny, R, 100 words: Harry/Ginny, I have to admit, is not always my cup of tea. It might be the way it's been written in canon that makes it less than appealing to me. It might be that it always seems to be taken for granted and, thus, never fully developed. But this: No words. So lovely. I could read 100,000 words of this.
Bothersome Things by
snegurochka_lee, Percy/Teddy, Charlie/Teddy, + Albus Severus, R, 9,900 words: Percy. Doing pervy things. While still being himself. And with Teddy Lupin, who is, mind you, adorable. And being adorable together. This, ladies and gentlemen, hits so many of my fandom buttons. Gah!
Collapse Into Me by
origamiflowers, Hermione/Fleur, NC-17, 2,415 words: Fleur never works well for me except when coupled with Bill. They are one of the few couples I loved in canon. However, there is so much potential for femmeslash with her that I cannot stop myself from hoping. In this particular story it works to a T: hot and extremely sexy (...and those aren't adjectives I'm in the habit of bestowing upon every little thing I read, mind you), spot-on characterisation, and enough plot to get me to believe this would fit comfortably with the source material (if the source material would be adult-themed, of course).
The Shopping Trip That Never Happened by
la_dissonance, Rose/Victoire, NC-17, 2,080 words: Victoire is how I like her, meaning seductive, sneaky, and sexy-playful (an English-raised version of her mother). Rose has a very ingénue vibe to her, but the wide-eyed innocence makes for a wonderfully naughty debauchery, which this story certainly delivers upon. Bonus: Hermione has the best lines.
Artwork
tbranch: Amazing. I've been, for the longest time (it seems), unaware of the existence of this most enchanting artist. Noteworthy pieces: Bellatrix looking sexy-dark-deadly, Pansy being a hardcore bad-arse, and Kingsley all stately and severe yet edgy (courtesy of the earring).
Luna and the Squid by
foxestacado: I'm having difficulty not staring. Everything about it is gorgeous.

Date: 2009-07-23 12:57 am (UTC)Also, Bill/Fleur is one of my favorite canon couples, so my fic was hard to write. I'm glad it came out OK despite that.
Thanks again!!
